They wouldn't be available to me if I simply needed to do a complete re-scan.īut for some reason, Reaper cannot understand that these are the same plugins as those used on my tracks in my existing projects. So you can say that Reaper technically does *find* all the vsts and vsts3. Very frustrating.Īs pointed out, the problem is not that the vst3s don't show up in the fx browser. I too thought it would fix it, it was my first thought, but nope. But that doesn't fix this particular problem. Richie I appreciate your reply, but I have done that complete re-scan (many times now).you have to do it every time you get a new Waves plugin. Run the "clear cache and rescan for plugins" in the preferences. This is unfortunately a common problem.but fortunately usually easily fixed.
#Waves plugins not showing up in pro tools 12 update#
The problem is ONLY with vst3's, and not all.I think only the ones that were updated today in Waves Central, which is almost all of them.īut for instance the L1 maximizer vst3 loads fine in my project, perhaps because this old plugin was one of the few not affected by today's update in Waves Central.Īny help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I spent a lot of time tweaking the settings on these plugins! I've tried copying the WaveShell1-VST3 9.92.vst3 file to my standard vst folder, but doesn't change anything. They don't load on the various tracks during start up.Īnd even though it says it "preserves effect configuration", if I click 'replace' and find the Waves vst3 in question, the plugin just loads at it's default settings. It's important to point out that all Waves plugins do show up in the fx browser, but the vst3 ones are missing in the sense that they are "asleep". I have done so this time, but it doesn't change anything. I know that every time I get a new Waves plugin, I need to do a complete vst re-scan in Reaper. The problem is that I have a project I'm mixing for someone, with a ton of waves plugins, mostly vst3.īut after today's update Reaper tells me, when opening Reaper, that almost all of the vst3 plugins used in the project are missing, and it gives me the long list. In Waves Central I saw that most of my Waves plugins needed to be updated, so I figured I would hit 'update' today. I hope I can get some help with this annoying problem.
